BNP endorses ‍‍`complete shutdown‍‍` called by quota protesters

The BNP has expressed its full support to the ‍‍`Complete Shutdown‍‍` program announced by the quota reform activists on Thursday across the country. This decision was taken in the virtual meeting of the standing committee of the party held on Wednesday night.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed highlighted this position of the party in a virtual press conference at around 10pm.

He said, "Seven people were martyred in the violent attack of the police and the armed Chhatra League during the peaceful movement of the students." Apart from this, many people have been injured in the massive attack by RAB, the police, BGB and SWAT on the protesting ordinary students.

"According to the decision taken at the meeting of the National Standing Committee of Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP today in this disgusting and bloody incident, the anti-discrimination student movement called by the anti-discrimination student movement for the rational demand of quota reform in government jobs has expressed its full support to the ‍‍`Complete Shutdown‍‍` program across the country on Thursday."

In response to recent attacks, killings, and with the demand for a violence-free campus, the Anti-discrimination Student Movement has announced a "Complete Shutdown" across the country.
